Liquor Seller Liability for Injuries Caused by Intoxicated Person
The liquor seller is liable under the Dram Shop Act for the injuries caused by an intoxicated person if they were intoxicated by the liquor served by the liquor seller and consumed on the liquor seller's premises. The law-defined a de minimis contribution of two 12oz beers is sufficient to trigger Dram Shop liability.

INJURIES CAUSED BY NURSING HOME ABUSE / NEGLIGENCE
Elderly and fragile residents in nursing homes are vulnerable, confused, and completely reliant upon the nursing home for their wellbeing in view of their medical diagnoses, and therefore require a high level of vigilance of care and supervision. Staff's failure to monitor residents who are at risk of falling may cause permanent or even fatal injuries.

Dog Bite Injuries
A dog’s owner is strictly liable (automatically liable) for the animal-caused injuries if the animal/ dog without provocation, attacks, or injures any person who is peaceably conducting himself or herself in any place where he or she may lawfully be. The statute does not require proof of the dog's vicious nature or the dog owner’s knowledge of that nature.

Truck Accidents
If a cargo delivering truck driver causes an accident, the assignment-giving truck company is liable for compensation of injuries and damages resulting from the accident for negligent entrustment of a vehicle to an unfit or incompetent driver or for the acts of its driver-agent (either employee or independent contractor). A personal injury claim can be pursued under either or both theories, but the monetary recovery remains the same.

Construction Site Injuries
A General Contractor ("GC") is liable for construction worker's injury if the GC retains control over some part of an independent contractor's work, has a non-delegable duty to provide the contractor's employees with a safe place to work, and assures that work is performed in a safe manner.
